Professional Career

Highlights
Marcy Dann, Ed.D., spent more than thirty-nine years as a board-certified educational therapist, helping twice-exceptional learners and their families uncover the gifts hidden beneath labels, limitations, and the stories others told about them. She is an artist, an author, a student of Shamanic traditions, and a world traveler — and the mother of two grown children, which has always been her most important work. Over the course of her career, Marcy built a body of work that touched nearly every corner of the field. For twenty-two years, she consulted at Bridges Academy and Bridges Academy Online, and she went on to teach Complexities of 2e at Elmbridge University (formerly Bridges Graduate School), where she was also honored as a charter member of the Delta Epsilon Tau Honor Society for outstanding contributions in Cognitive Diversity in Education. For nearly two decades, she served as coordinator of the Master's and Post-Master's Certificate Programs in Educational Therapy at California State University, Northridge, where she also taught and supervised emerging practitioners.Marcy collaborated with specialists across transdisciplinary fields, consulted with families, educators, and administrators, and mentored the next generation of educational therapists. She served as President of the Association of Educational Therapists from 2010 to 2012, and was later named a Fellow by the AET — the profession's highest honor — in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the field. She is now turning the page.
